Sir, —As a resident of your pretty capi- . tal for the last few months, and also as \ a. frequent traveller by the Union liners , I am greatly struck by the splendid ( loyalty and onorgetic devotion to ditty . shown by her masters and officers dm- ] ing the trying crisis now prevailing. I , daily peruso your journals and watlo through; a number of letters on strike i matters; but strange to say, I have j failed to discover any note .of praise be- , ing sounded on this aspect of affairs. . It is to be hoped that the powers that ' be will recognise, the undaunted tor- \ vices and reward them accordingly. Surely their, example lias been a stirring ono and merits substantial recognition?—l am, etc., FAIR PLAY. [Our correspondent's tribute to the masters, officers, and engineers of the vessels is well deserved.]
