REMISS POLICEMEN.
■ THE COMPLAINT OF A CITIZEN. ' ■ An "eye-witness of the Taranaki Street scene last evening called at The Dominion office and made a statement with regard to the inactivity of a regular foot, constable. This constable, he stated, was standing : alongside a man called out: "You scabs." The policeman simply turned round and looked at him. The special police apprehended another man, who was standing sonie distanc.e>;;off.'ii'.The? ■ eye-witness does not allege thatthe man arrested, did not use the term complained of, but he does allege that a constable failed in his duty by not arresting the man next to him, who undoubtedly did call out.
