ZOOLOGICAL SOCIETY.
A meeting of the Wellington Zoological Society was hold in tho schoolroom at Newtown' last evening, Tho Rev. J. Crowes prosidod, qanl therowas a fair attendance of members. The condition and position of thojsacioty -were fitlly discussed, and some important proposals touching the Zoo and iho two iflu scums ill Wellington fl'ero Considered. N Tho chairman and secretary spoke of tho great work before the soeiety, and asked the meeting to consider whether the society slsoiikl -oiigago to accomplish it, or whether tho operations of the society should be discontinued. Tho meeting rtuanimonsly resolved to urgo tho society to continue its efforts to im-; prove tho Zoo. A move will be made to-' day to try to proetiro a pair of bcaycM from Auckland, if tihoy <:iui bo obtained at a moderate price.
