ANNUAL REPORT. >, The annual report of tho-Wellington. Centre of tho New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association states that 'last season was one of tho most. successful on record, and the finances arc in a. sound position. The balance*sh.ect shows a, very prosperous state, of affairs, the. assets being £15 16s. 4-d. in oxeesa of liabilities. •• Tho tour of the three leading AustraHaii swimmers—Messrs. Solomons, Hay, and Riddington—■-was a proiioufjced success, and tho thanks of the. centre_are extended to those- who so ably provided for the entertainment of the- visitors. '
A team was sent to the championships at 'Wangaiiui, Messrs. Brtc.e, HealVj and C. H, Nenl being competitors in the championship events, in addition to a polo team. Miss Annie O'Leary, Masterton, successfully defended her title in the 100 yards ladies' championship. The local championship events, name*ly, 100 taftd j!2O yards, Were won respectively by C. Brice and R, Healy, The school championships, hold under thfl auspices of the Swifts Club, resulted in wins for—Boys: D. V. Murrell one, E. 11. Wakelin two; girls: Mavis lil'Lean one, Florence Outturn tws. During the past season 4he first series of matches for the Nordon Cup took placo, the cento's team succeeding in carrying off the trophy. The water polo competition, wa-s condoiited as usual, the senior banner going to Old Boys' Club and the junior ito the Wellington Club.
