DRENCHED TURN-OUT.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.), Creymoilth, November 16. On Saturday the' Federation held what ,was billed to bo a bilge demonstration of workers, organised and unorganised, asa protest against tho arrest of tho strike leaders in Wellington. Heavy rain, however, commenced to fall at the hour of starting,' and proceedings went very flat. Vory few came from Blackball, and the bands did not put in an appearance. The procession, which was headed by two red banners, consisted mainly of State miners, accompanied, by women with perambulators The streets were crowdea with people, but owing to the continued rain, open-air speechmaking wafl abandoned, and an adjourn, ment made tb the Tom Hall. Various speakers addressed the meeting, denouncing 'the Government, the Employers' Union, the Press in general, and the local Press in particular. Citizens hold a meeting to-morrow to arrange for working the port., It is understood that local business people are stopping the credit system to all strikers. .
