STRIKE GATHERINGS.

Local strikers And their sympathisers marched in procession from the railway Station to Victoria Square last night, and held an opfiii-air meeting. The procession was headed by a cross borne by members of the Christchnrch Socialist League. The weather was wet, and , there tflvs onlv a moderate atto.udisnfeo at tlio meeting, A meeting of strikers and symjia- J tinsel's was held at Sydenham Park this afternoon, and was largely attended. Among the speakers was "Mr, I'. C. Webb, M.P., who gavo a review of fiio position in the North Island. A motion WO9 adopted demanding I,ho relcasa or tho imprisoned atrik«ra.,
