He was buried on the afternoon of the 'day on which he died. Kiamil Pasha, who was-eighty years of ago at, the time of his death, had been Grand Vizier of Turkey on four occasions, and was the first Grand' Vizier appointed by the Young Turk -party after the overthrow .of Abdul Hamid. Kiamil jWlja was an Albanian by birth. At J> Jio entered the Turkish Government service in a very subordinate position,, but by as« siduity and -perseverance attained tho position of second secretary to the Imperial Ottoman Embassy in London. After remaining in England some tivo or three years he returned to Turkey, and was created a Councillor of State, It is said that during the Transvaal War Kaimil, accompanied by about twentothers, went to the British Embassy, in Constantinople, and_ ma-do prayers for the success of the British ariii.<;—an action which further embroiled him at the Palace.
