HERE ON BAIL. Tho I.W.W. organiserj Thomas Barker, who was arrested at Auckland on Wednesday, on a charg© of making a seditious s[>cech at Wellington, arrived at Wellington by tho Mam Trunk espress yesterday afternoon. Barker, Nvho was released on bail, stands remanded to appear at tho local Magistrate's Court on Wednesday morning next. A crowd of about 200 strikers gatiiCTeil at Thorndon Station to see Barker. A strong forco of mounted police, regular and special, guarded every entranco to the station, as Barker came out of the station buildings fmj o ] c his placo in a pony trap which ir.is 'wniting to rccoive him. This seat in the trap besido him was occupied by M. J. Savage, an Auckland Socialist, who has como down to place tho workside of the Auckland crisis before tho strikers of Wellington. A mob followed tho trap through tho streets, whistling tho "Marseillaise," and singing "Glory, Glory, Hallelujah." A forco of mounted polico followed in their wako. crowd. Although tho chairman said that it would hardly bo right- to ask him to deliver an address, ho spoke- a few words. Ho promulgated tho old story that "they were going to win. tho light." Mr. Savage congratulated the Wellington, watersiders on what he- termed their brilliant stand,
