1 Messrs. Abraham and Williams Ltd., reFort on their annual cattle fair, held at ahiatiia, on Thursday, as follows:—The eoJo was a record for the district, the entry comprising oiactly 2170 head. Several mies of grown bullocks were yarded,, but on the whole the entry was deficient in cattle of this description. The attendance was exceptionally large, and iucludod buyers from Wango.nui to Otaki, and' a representative attendance from the Wnirar rapa. Contrary to expectations, tho ''strike" hnd not the slightest effect on buyers. Bidding at auction was very animated for all classes of bullocks—an exceptionally successful sale has to be recorded. Out of the total entry we sold 1433 head under the hammer. Another couplo of hundred wero disposed of afterwards. Young catile were keenly competed for, but the prices asked by eome vendors in several instances were prohibitive. A nice lino of 21 4-year bullocks brought £8 Eβ., and 12, on account of Mr. A. Howard, £8 9s. (top price of the day); 22 3-year bullocks, on account of Balfour Estate, made £8. Our principal sales were as under:—Four-year bullocks (beet), £7 7s. 6d., £7 10s., £8 ss. to £8 95.; 4-year bullocks (others), £6 63., £6 lCis. to £6 175.; 3-year bullocks (best'i, £7 55., £7 9e. to £8; 3-year bullocks (others). £5, £5 45., £5 fa., £6, £6 10s. to £7 23. 6d. A nice line of 91 3-year I'.A. steers made £7 10s., and a lino of 32 3-ycar Hereford bullocks made £7 Vs.; 25-year eteers,- £6 135.; 2- year steers (best), £4 125., £4 15s. to £5; others, £4, £4 7s. to £4' 9fi.j 15-months steers, £3 7s. 6d. i yearling steers. £2 lie., £2 17s. 6d., £0, £3 4s. to £3 12s.
