CITY MARKETS. After a prolonged quietness, the Blair n.nd Allen Street market is now working at high pressure ou fruit from the Navua and Willoohra. So far, the market is still without tho usual shipment of Australian and Southern fruit, but advices to hand state that tho Nikau'will arrive with a full shipment from Nelson early this morning. The American shipment of pears, apples, oranges, and bananas is to hand, with a proportion of each lino in very bad order. JS T ow potatoes are coming to hand freely, and are realising well. Yesterday's approximate values are: —American oranges, 10s. to 17s. Gd. per cajo; American apples, 135., 145.; Tongan bananas, ss. to 10s.; Fiji bananas/ 45., Bs. case; pineapples, 10s., 155.; American pears, 7s. to 14s. case; lemons, 225. od. to 275. Cd.; chorry plums, 65., 7s. 6d. half-case; gooseborries, 3Jd. to 4d. lb.; strawberries, 7d. to Is. sd. lb.; tomatoes, Is. 2d. to Is. sd. lb.; mushrooms, 9d. to Is. lb.; cucumbers, 4s. to Bs. dozen; cherries, 10s. to 14s. half-case; rhubarb,' 4«. to Bs. 6d. dozen; cabbage, Is. to 3s. sack; cauliflower, 6s. to 10s. sack; carrots, 7s. to 9s. sack; parsnips, 6s. to Bs. 6d. sack; beetroot, ss. to 6s. sack; French boans, B}d, to 10d. lb.; broad beans, Id. lb.; green peas, 25., 2s. 4d. peck; asparagus, Is. to Is. 6d. bundle; lettuce, 2s. to 4s. case; spring onions, 6d., Bdi dozen; silver beet, Bd. dozen; radish, Bd. to Is.; white turnips, 4s. to ss. 6d. sack; Hutt pqtatoes, 12s.,cwt.; onions, £13 per ton; potatoes (new), £7 to £8 los. ton; fresh eggs, Is. dozen.
