0© account of the weather being bad the Grcytown Swimming Club were unable to hold their opening function yesterday, but not to bo beaten,, through the onrrgy of Mr. Olifcnt, a'"soci.il" was hold in the Fire Brigade Hall during tho evening, and it proved a successful function. There wore about 70 present, and the evening was spent in dancing, cinging, and cards. During the evening Mr. Olifcnt thanked the ladies who had generously assisted.
