THE TRAMWAY MEN.

GENERAL MEETING ON SUNDAY. Two mass meetings of the local tr*mwaymen were held yesterday. The p.m. shift met in the morning, and the a.m. shift iu the evening. The-only definite decision come to, so far as could bo ascertained,' was that a general meeting should be held on Sunday next. There was some talk about striking if free labour were omployed hi the carting of goods, from the wharves, and another proposal was that financial assistance should bo given to the strikers. The secret ballot proposal, it is reported, has been filially jettisoned,'but it is considered extremely unlikely that tho tramwaymen will elect to strike.
