AT THE EXHIBITION.
POSITION MORE SATISFACTORY. (By Telegraph.—Press Association,} Auckland, November 12. The president of the Exhibition Executive (Mr. George Elliott) has been approached by several 'master builders with olfers of assistance, i.f necessary, in preparing tlio big fair in time for tho opening on December 1. ''While deeply appreciating this .thoughtful offer," said Mr. Elliot to a ''Star" reporter, "I really do not think that tho necessity for acceptatico will arise, becauso it is my firm belief that we will soon havo our own mon back at work. On the other hand, if members of our staff unduly delay their return to the positions which aro being kept open for them, some other way must be found to get the Exhibition ready, and it absolutely must ho ready by tho date fixed for opening. It is understood that several of tho workmen concerned have approached the Ex* hibition builder (Mr. A. Peafce) during tho past day or two with intimation! that they are prepared to return wluinover it is decided to resume work. Matters havo reached a more forward stage in Wonderland Park so- far as the resumption of work is concerned. This undertaking is quite separate from tho work in the Exhibition buildings, and an advertisement had the effect <>f bringing a number of men back to work this morning. Over a scof-o of carpanters and painters aro now at work, and o, number moro have notified their intention of returning to-morrow.
