MR. LLOYD GEORGE ON WORKERS' DWELLINGS. By Telegraph—Press Association—OopyrieM (Reo. November 10, 0.35 a.m.) London, November 9. Mr. Lloyd George (Chancellor of the Exchequer), speaking at Middlesbrough, referred to the "scandalous overcrowding" of workmen's dwellings. It was intended,.the.said,i,to, give. the municl-j palities power to' acquire land easily, at fair prices, without robbing the landlord or tho taxpayer. It was- also proposed to Telievo' the municipalities of certain public -services, including education, of which tho Government would carry the larger sharo of the burden. The Government would also deal with the evil of the leasehold system, and make a complete and national survey of the whole housing problem.
