DEATHS ON REMUERA.
SHIP UNDER THE YELLOW FLAG.
Flying tho yellow flag, R.M.S. Rerauera arrived in the stream on Saturday afternoon, aftor a good voyage from London, via TenerilTo, Capo Town, and Hobart. It was ascertained soon after her arrival that f/iicfs were cases of scarlatina on tho vessel. .Oho. of the patients—a small boy, named R. Cretiiey, a B'teorago passenger to Lyttclton— succumbed to the complaint on Noveinlier 2, and was buried at soa. Tho vessel is not to eomo to tho whaif until the passengers affected have been removed. Tho Wellington passengers were passed by the Port Health Officer, and wero landed by tho tender o.ii Saturday afternoon, and the Auckland passengers .came ashore in tho same way yesterday. : It is thought prObabje- thattlio vessel will berth this morning, when the- other passengers will land. : Besides tlio death from scarlatina, mentioned abo-v'e, there was - also '• a' death from scarlet fever. On November 1, Mr, R. Forbes, who was accompanied bv Mrs. Forbes and Miss Forbes, first saloon passengers to Lytte!tou> died, and was buried at sea. Yesterday fojirteori patients and contacts wero removed from the Remuera to Somos Island.
