I DENIAL,

Mr. A. Parlano .(secretary .of the Drivers' Union) takes exception, to astatement by Mr. .Blake, of the firm of Messrs. Blako and Carlisle, 111 iJii interview published in The Dominion flu Saturday. The statement was that Ml". Parlano told him (Mr. Blake) that 110 "was i.ii the hands of the Strike Conirtiitteo" in regard to the earting of bo,mo flour from the Maftawatu station.

"I made no such remark," Mr. Parlane stated last, evening, "'arid I am not in the hands of the Strike Committee. What I xokl him was that tho matter that ho was inquiring about —re tho flour at the Miuiawittu station—was n matter for tlio Strike Committee to decides and not me, and I referred Jnm to tho Strike Committee. The position is this: that tho carters did not care about carting any stuff upon which an embargo had been laid by the Strike Committee. I advised the men not to han* die any stuff that an embargo had been laid 011 by the Strike Committee, and I had very good, reasons for that, and explained them to Mr. Blake. But 1 said .nothing about briing in the hands o£ the Strike Committee. I referred him to the Strike Committee."
