MR W. BELCHER ARRIVES.
SEAMEN MEET TO-DAY, Mr. W. Belcher and two other delegates from tlie Dunediu Seamoft'B Union—Messrs. W. Clark - and F.- C. Smith—arrived from tlio South by tho ■ Mauiig.imii yesterday morning. Tho tlireo delegate ontercd a cab, and nothing was said as > they drove through ■a crovul of watersiders assembled near tlio gates' of tho Queen's \Ylrarf. Mr. Belehcr was approached by a Dqmnion reporter last evening, but de- ■ clined to make suy statement regarding tho recent dissensions between him-' self and Mr. \V. T. Young. Ho refused , also to say nnvthing about tho eoiiforonee between the official's of tho different branch©* of the Seamen's Union, which, it waß recently ariiounecd' would' bo held in Wellington. Three delegates from tho Auckland Seamen's Union aro also in town, but it is understood that no conference took place yesterday. A meeting of seamen is to bo held to-day.
