MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

' I Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M., presided ovor a sitting of the Court yesterday morning. John Chambers and Sons were charged with signing a receipt for £60 75., 4a. liable for duty, without tho same being duly stamped. A plea of guilty was entered, and a fino of 10s. with costs 75., imposed. 1 For insobriety, Richard Robinson was fined 4(Js. James Horne and Patrick Kelly were each fined 205., two first offenders 55., and two other first offenders were convicted and , discharged. Charged with being helplessly drunk Georgo Hastings was ordered to pay the cost of medical treatment, 17s. 6d. A plea of not guiltv was entered by Richard Flanagan, w'lio was charged with- driving his cab at other than a walking pace past tho intersection at Manners Street and Cuba Street. He was convicted and ordered to pay. Court costs, 95., and witnossos exponses, 4s. Mr. Dickson appeared for accused. For not having a light attached to his motor Wm. C-orko was fined 10s., with costs 7s. Edward Bloomfield and Gilbert Arthur Welling wero charged with allowing cattle to wander. Tho former was convicted and fined 10s., with costs 75., and the latter ordered to pay costs, 7s. For keeping an unregistered dog Robert Mason was fined 55., with costs 7s. '
