FORTY STEAMERS IDLE.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Auckland, November 5. There are now 40 vessels in the Stream—3s steamers and 5 sailers. In the holds of the vessels is over 20,000 tons of general merchandise, consigned to. business firms in the city. In addition, a number of steamers from oversea ports have cargo for southern ports; ■ / The Northern Company's steamer Rimu arrived at Onehunga this morning from Hokianga," bringing passengers and cargo. The'latter, iyhich comprised 300 boxes of butter, six bales of wool, and a quantity of general merchandise, was unloaded by the vessel's crew without any interference from the strike , pickets. Everything was quiet on the i Onehunga wharf to-day.
