OTAKI.

A lad named To Huni met with an accident at the Manakau School on luesday through a detonator, which lie pricked with the point of a compass, exploding. Two fingers woro blown off, and a third injured, while a nasty hole was made in his leg. First aid was rendored by Nurso Inglis, who happened to bo on a visit from Wellington, after which tho lad was sent to the Otaki Hospital.

5- Raploy, who has been, in an indifferent state of health, is now improving. He will shortly leave for Wellington for a change. The Manakau Tennis Club's "social," held on Tuesday, was a great success, two attendaiice being large. ■
