NOTICE TO THE MEN. In consequenco of the 'heavy expense in keeping plant going the Otago Harbour Board have had to consider tho position. It is said that they are £2000 behind in the amount of revenue anticipated on the year's operations, and. tho secretary, after submitting recommendations to the c'hairman Qlr. A. G. Moller) lias issued tho following notice to thoso in charge of tho various works: —"I regret that, owing to the curtailment of tho board's revenue (as the result of the waterside workers strike) tho board may find it. necessary to closo down on all possiblo works and services. Ple«isO) tli-ercford, notify tno men under your control that their services may not bo required on and after Thursday, November 6, until further jiotiee."
