HINEMOA'S MEN OUT.
•RELUCTANT TO TAKE THE STEP. Since Mr. AY. T. Young's-visit to the Government steamer Hinemoa 011 Saturday evening there lias been unrest amongst tho crow. On that occasion Mr. Young told tho men that he would liavo 110 objection to them working the ship when siho was engaged on lighthouse work but, as soon as an attempt was made to place the vessel in tlio ferry service, to carry mails, bo would call'them out. Yesterday morning, be-, fore breakfast, tlio' crew intimated that they wished to give tho necessary 24 hours' notice, and they will come ashore to-day. From what could be gathered the men are reluctant to leavo tho Hinemoa. They realise that t'hey are throwing over positions embracing* first-class conditions. Tho crow of tho Government steamer work undor a different and a mucin hotter agvepmont than other unionists in the seafaring line. '.'Had it riot : lieoh r 'for the pressure which has been brought to bear on them tho-opinion is confidently held that they would never have left the .ship.
