NO FRIENDS OF FEDERATION. (By Telegraph.—Preee Association.) Auckland, November 4. Tho attitudo of tho Auckland member's of tho Merchant Scrvico Guild in tlio present trouble, should freo labour bo employed, was informally discussed by members at present in port at a meeting this morning. There were sixteen present. . The discussion centred round a statement issued by Captain D. J. Watson, secretary of tho Guild, to
tho effect that masters and officers . liad been paid u off ships, ■ owners could not expect members to turn out to work vossols along with freo labour. Those prosent took up tho position most emphatically that they would not bo parties to a strike in sympathy with the Federation >of Labour or any other Labour organisation.
