CAPTAIN WATSON'S ACT. OFFICERS ASK A REPUDIATION. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Dunedln, November 4. . A deputation representing the masters and mates of the Union Company's vessels now in port, waited on tho company's local manager this morning, repudiating the published statement by Captain Watson at Wellington, representing t'ho Merchant Servico Guild. Thoy wished to assure the. company of their loyalty, stating that if they had any grievances this was not t'ho time to ventilato thorn Dunedin, November 4. A meeting of captains and officers in tho service of tho Union Company, was hold this foranoon. Captain Carson occupied tho chair. The meeting'was called for tho purpose of dealing with a statement mado yesterday .by t'ho secretary of tho Merchants' Scivico Guild at Wellingtoi (Captain D. J. Watson) as reuortcd in Dunedin papers. Tho following telegram was dispatched te Captain Watson:—"At a meeting held to-day (26 members present) it was unanimously resolved to instruct you officially to retract your statement made to tho Proas regarding masters and officers coming out in sympathy if ships aro worked by freo labour, as thoy are determined to do their duty ac masters and officers daring this crisiss.—Signed, Captains Carson and Reovcs.'
