At a largely-attended < meeting of farmers, held in M&sterton to-dav, says a Press Association'telegram, the following resolution' was unanimously carried; —"That this meeting of representative farmers of the Wairarapa learns with indignation that reports should havo been telegraphed from Masterton to tho leading newspapers of the Dominion assorting that locaf farmers and tradespeople deprecate the sending of special constables to Wellington to maintain law and , order. That this meeting is satisfied that such reports are deliberato distortions of fact circulated with the intention of creating sympathy for law-breakers."
