U.S.S. CO. SAILINGS.

THE TEMPORARY SCHEDULE.

In order to keep ~up tlio LyttoltonWellington ferry service tie Union Company has found it necessary -to make cortnin changcs. The Maunganui which.arrives from Sydney this morning, will probably take the WaKine's run to Lyttelton; sailing at 5 p.m. In consequence of this cliange there will be no boat to Melbourne from Wellington to-morrow. If this proposal is carried out. it iB likely that the Maunganui will return to Wellington to take the Sydney berth on Friday. It is also probable that tho Willochro, which arrives from San Francisco tomorrow will take up the Sydney ran, but as, on tho other hand, she liaa a large quantity of general cargo to discharge, she may remain in Wellington. So far no definite announcement has been mada as to which steamer will make tho Sydnoy trip, but it will most likely bo tlio Maunganui'. Tho Mocmki, which arrived at tho Bluff from Melbourne on Monday last, would liavo under normal conditions left Wellington for Sydney direct 011 Friday, but owing to the strike she will iomain at Port Chalmers.

Tlio Wollington-Picton-Xetson West Coast service lias also been disorganised, principally .owing to tlio accident to tlio Arftliurft, Mid tho ntriko on tho Vi'uljino, JJara jtm aa.J»at ta Pioiwi and

I Eon on Monday, and consequently thero was no arrival from tho ports across tho Strait last night.
