HAMILTON'S MEN.
CHEERED IN THE STREETS. (By Teleffrapti.—Press Assoolatlon.). Auckland, November 8. Over 500 farmers are assembled in Hamilton with mounts ready to proceed to Auckland immediately they are summoned. Other. contingents are being organised, and unless a pacifio is effected 1500 men will be mobilised in readiness to assist in the opening of the port of Auckland 'for the shipment of products from 'their land: Many _ more men are offering than are considered necessary. The first demonstration of the farmers' strength was mado in Hamilton to-night, when detachments, formed at the neighbouring centres, rode through town to their temporary Quarters. Seventy-five men arrived from. Cambridge at 7 p.m., 150 from Te Aroha at 8.30, and 65 from Te Awamutu at 9.30 p.m. Later in the evening squads of 16 from Ngaruawahia, and 29 from tho Taupiri district reached Hamilton. Large crowds watched tho arrival of the earlier detachments, and, as the men redo through tho town, they cheered and applauded. These detachments comprised 835 men from Hamilton and neighbourhood. Men will bo drawn to make; a total of about 550. Many of them are old volunteers, and' the younger men have all received military training. •
