At tho monthly meeting -of tho Ka'ngitikei County Council this morning, the following motion was passed:— "That wo call upon tho settlors of Rangitikei to volunteer for special service as mounted constables or free labourers for sorvico in Wellington, and suppressing the present lawlessness now rampant, or theif business as famiera will ho threatened with disaster if th« present disorder is allowed to continue, Scores of tons of butter and cheese are made daily, which it is imperative to sliip as delivered in tho port, or rapid deterioration and lose of the Home market is a. certainty, while tho sheep farmer lias lost the January Bales in London through tile hold-up of shipping. As. farmers, we oxpress no opinion on the matter of tho quarrel, nor do we desiro to take either side, but strikers must learn that, whatever their grievances aro, wo will not allow trado to be stopped and our business ruined."
