Thirty-five women of different classes applied for seats at tho Wolls-Mehegan fight on Cup night. Tho applicants included fivo well-known Sydney ladies who are accustomed to attend Thursday matinees at the Sydney Stadium. They wished for the highest-priced seats. "Snowy" Baker will not allow women to be present, except at sparring encounters, and has, therefore, refused all applications from ladies, including tho request of a Melbourne society 6et for the erection of a special bos. -on Cup night where they could see without being seen. ■ .
