Th« Auckland Exhibition, which will be opened on December jL will, it is stated, bo the largest aria most complete ever held in Dominion, with the exception of the International Exhibition of Christchurch, held a few years ago. Very active preparations have been going on in Auckland for many months past, and the township of white buildings, set in a beautiful terraced landscape of lawns and gardens, surrounded by native trees or all kinds, has been completed for some weeks. The promoters intend to apply any profit which may result to the improvement of the Domain, in which the Exhibition is being held, and one of the attractive features or the fair will »be tho beauty of the grounds, wh.icli now form one of the prottiest Bpots in Auckland. The Exhibition will extend oyer at least four, and probably five, months, in the brightest part of the year, when the sub-tropical flora of the city are at their best. An unusual number of fine attractions, apart from the actual exhibition, have been provided. The most notable is the engagement of the Royal Artillery Baud, of ■Woolwich, an or'g&nisatibn which has few if any oquals in tho musical world. It will, b» in Auckland for ton weeks, during wliich it . will play two programmes a day. A fine collection of British pictures, many of which were shown in this year's Royal, and Scottish Academy Exhibitions, is being set up in a special gallery. A fairy fountain has'been built. It is a gorgeous show-piece, such as has never been seen in the Southern Hemisphere before, and the apparatus is the' same a-s was used at the Glasgow Exhibition, df which the fountain was one of the most admired' features. A splendid collection of big up-to-date side-shows is embodied in w onderland, and these are set up in a-large park situated so as to command some of the finest views in Auckland. The Railway Department will issue excursion tickets to Auckland during the period of the Exhibition.
