TRAMWAYMEN'S POSITION.
NO FREE LABOURERS ON CARS. , The president of the Waterside Workers' Union yesterday received the following letter from Sir. W. Noot (secretary of the Wellington Tramways Union): — "I have been instructed by the executive of the Tramways Union to tor» ward tho following resolution, which was unanimously carried at a meeting held last night: 'That it be a recommendation to conductors and motornien not to carry free labourers on the care. Motormen and conductors engaged on cars running to and from the t ßailway Station are to carry out their duties, unless otherwise instructed by the exeeu-- ■ "I am further instructed to oonvsj to yotir Strike Committee the best ff islies of tho tramway men for the ultimate success of the fight they are at present engaged in on .behalf of the workers of tho Dominion." Several of 'tho speakers who harangued tho orowd during the day expressed the hone that they_ would bo able to rely on tlio co-operation of the tramwaymen.
