The ''Toronto Globe" commends tho Montreal "Daily Telegraphy proposal that Prince Arthur of Connaught should be the next Governor-General of Canada, and that the Dukes of Connaught '■ should be made hereditary GoveniorsGeneral, thus founding a new dynasty, giving Canada virtually a King, and introducing a departure which might mean that every Dominion would ultimately be presided over by a separate branch of the Royal Famiiy_. Tho "Globe" says that Prinoo Arthur is un unknown quantity; ho may or may not have the attributes of a statesman, If he wants to become 011© of tho proConsuls of tho Empire it would bo bet- : ter wore ho to have his apprenticeship in a less conspicuous office. There may be 110 real objection to a Court at Ottawa, but .undoubtedly t'hero would bo to hereditary Governors-General.
