LAWN TENNIS.
MEETING OP N'.Z. ASSOCIATION. The annual meeting of the Nsw Zealand Lawn Tennis Association was held last night. The following delegates were present: —Messrs. A. G. Henderson (president). I), M. Ivean, and R. St. J. Beero (Wellington), Mr. B. Kcesihg (Auckland), Messrs. G. Gare ami P. White-Parsons (Canterbury), Messrs'. F. l'\ Grady and 11. N. K. Swaisston (Hawko's Bay), Mr. A. ;L. Berry Messrs. W. Fraser and Jeffrey "(Ws'.nganui), and Mr. L. G. M'ackay (Taratiaki). Intimation was received to tho effect that the Australasian Lawn Tennis Association had decided that the Australasian contest would be played this year in Perth, Western Australia, from November 8 to 1 15 inclusive. These dates wouki enable players to leave Sydney for Perth by steamor on October 25 to MclhouxaQ on November,
20, in time for the Victorian tournament. Tho Australasian Association wrote to the elFeefc that tho Manila Club had extended an invitation to leading tenuis players in Australasia to visit Manila and participate in the tournament for tho "Championship of tho Orient,' from January 3to 12. The players, it was stated, would bo provided with accommodation free of charge. Oil tho suggestion by letter of Mr. F. S. Wilding, it. was decided; to forward an invitation to tho Canadian Association to send a.'team to New Zealand, and to ask them their terms, Tho writer stated that the Canadians were very keen on having an invitation oxtended to them to visit Now Zealand. Mr. Berry moved that tho application of the proposed Waikato Association for direct affiliation with tho Now Zealand Association bo granted; as in tho best interest of New Zealand tennis, provided the Waikato Association forward a constitution to bo approved when received. An amendment to this motion was proposed by Mr. Gore, who considered that before the New Zealand Association could possibly .agree to the request they should bo quite certain that the other towns in this' district should want to join tho Waikato instead of the Auckland Association. Such information should be obtained. The amendment was put to the'meeting and lost, and the original motion carried, with the deletion of the words, "in tho best interest of New Zealand tennis." Wetherby (re-elected);' Committee of Management, Hon. F. M. B. Fisher, M.P. (chairman), and Messrs. R. St, J. Beero, A. L. Berry, H. M. Gore, D. Murray liean, P.
