The thunderstorm in South, Wales, which, accompanied by lightning, demolished "the Congregational Church and caused the injury of several persons, caused great destruction. Jinny houses were devastated in South Wales. Hundreds of cottages at Pontypridd are roofless. Huge trees were uprooted, and the firo station was blown into tho canal. The body of a. workman was found at A.bercynon. The faco was battered beyond recognition, the man having been blown from 'the highway into a field, There were many miraculous escapes. Five terrified children sheltered under n. table at Abercynon, and a moment later tho ceiling crashed in. Tlio children were rescued from under several toils of debris. Tliey were uninjured. Members of a football team were injured at Trcliarris. One, named Woolford, was carried twenty yards against a wall, and succumbed to his injuries. (Rec. October 29,-10.50 p.m.) London, October 29. The tornado devastated a strip twelve miles in, length. Whole streets wore levelled. Scarcely a liouso in Celfynydd has been left whole, while many of the inhabitants have sustained fractured limbs. .
