Shallcrass, general secretary of tho Notfi Zealand' Sports Protection League, attended aiid explained" tlio objects and aims of the league. It was decided to open the' season on Saturday afternoon next, when a fifty yards' race will ba held. Tho president o.f the club (Mr. J.
