''Golden Wedding. Mr. and Mrs. Bushell, of Howick, celebrated tlicir golden wedding 011 Sunday, having been married by tho Rov. Archdeacon Lloyd, nt St. Paul's Oliurcli, Auckland, in tho year 1803. Mr. Busholl \vas_ born at Monkton. Kent, England, in tho year 1835, ana landed in New Zealand on February 27, 18G1, bv tho Sevellia with a company of tlio 14tli Regiment. Ho was in cliargo of several vessels on tho New Zealand .coast, and oventnally settled in Howick. Mrs. Bushell landed in New Zealand iu 1847, in tho ship Sir George Seymour, with her parents. She was.born in Nottingham, England. Mr. and Mrs. Bushell's family numbered 13—nino daughters and four sons—lo of whom are now living. Thoro aro 42 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The Hon. George Fowlds and Mre. Fowlds arrived in Wellington from Auckland on Monday, and are staying at tho Windsor. - Mr. and Mrs. John Neill (Wereroa) aro making a brief visit to town for the Gcnee season. Mrs. J. Hino and her family are spending a few days at the Occidental Hotel before returning.to their home in Toko. Miss Trixie Hayes is visiting her sister in Hawke's Bay, and is tho guest of Mrs. Flood. Mrs. Margaret Evans, of Roxburgh Stroot, has written to friends in -Wellington stating, that she is leaving London for Now Zealand by the Orontes on November 7. . Mr. Wesley Spmgg, chairman cf directors of tho New Zealand Dairy Association, accompanied, by Mrs. Spragg and their daughter, leit Auckland by tho steamer Niagara on Saturda'y, en route for London. A merry gathering assembled at "Rangiinario," Crofton Downs, on tlio evening of Thursday/ October 23. tho occasion being the celebration of the coming of age of Miss Ivio M. Browne, second daughtor of Mr. L. A. Browno. Musical and elocutionary items and parlour games furnished an ,enjoyable evening's entertainment. Miss Browno .was tlio recipient of numerous tokens of kindly este<Jm from friends from fa,r and near.
