The Minister of Finance (Hsfing Hsling), has agreed to immediately introduce' Sir Richard Dane's scheme whereby the foreign districts and codirectors will receive direct all the salt revenues, for which detailed returns will he fully published. Sir Richard Dane, who was formerly Inspector-General of Excjpo and Salt in India, was appointed in June last to a position in connection with the improvement and better administration of the Chinese Salt Department.
