A NEW AUTHORESS AND A NEW SETTING FOR ENGLISH FILMS. The Countess of Warwick (well known for her interest in social movements) is attacking a new field of industry. Sho is to join tho rapidly-incrcasing hand of cinema writers. Bio count-ess will write plays for Messrs. Barker and Kisch, and Warwick Castlo, her own estate at Eastern, in Sussox (with many thousands of acres of deer park, beautiful gardens, and woodland)! will bo used as a sotting for tho film dramas.' i ■ Her ladyship admits that sho has written her first play in a "highlysensational vein." It is called "Tho Groat. Pearl Affair. V .time, ihowover,' sho hopes to 'provo that things of a far higher character can bo filmed. Ish-G is convinced that much of modern thought can bo demonstrated on tho film. Then, too, there Is muoh history that is practieally unknown in tho Warwick archives. "I hay© two Incidents now in mind thpt will form admirablo subjects for dramatic treatment," said the countess. "Thoy concern Piers Gaveston and Isabel, ono of tho daughters of the King-maker who married that Duko of Clarence who was drowned ih tho butt of Malmsev, and will havo Warwick Castlo as a setting." "Thero is much that can bo done to raise the picture palace to a splendid nosition as an educative influence, <md I have a great hope and high ideals," sho added.
