In my springing heifer yards at Stratford on the tamo day I had good competition for heifers showing duality and close-up. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, report;—Wo held our annual spring cattle fair in tho Paliiatua Farmers' Association yards on Friday, when wo offered a veTj- heavy yarding of, oil classes of cattle. Owing to tho recent wet weather and tho flooded state of the rivers quito a number of the cattlo advertis did not come forward. However, our yarding was Quito a representative one and ,under tho hammer, and privately afterwards, wo disposed of the bulk of our entry at prices eatiefactory to vendors. Wo had a line of very choice yearling Jersey-cross heifers, bred and offered by Mr. Prank' Cress-well, of Balance, and theso met with capital competition, being knockcd down at £4 135., which is beliovcd to bo a record price for tho sea-son.
