After an interval of two wet Satur- 1 (Jays the courts 0/ most of the tennis s slubs were occupied during the whole 1 Df Saturday afternoon. 1 At Brougham Hill court there was a I ?ood muster of members, and in tho s practice games played some of the t members displayed excellent form, b About the end of the month a tour- t nament will bo commenced. Large entries hare been received for the lien's handicap singles, tho nien's landicap doubles, and . the combine loublos. The ladies, too, have enta :d well for the handicap singles ail loublos. The opening of Bidwill Street privat «nnis court on Saturday was jargel; ittonded. _ Great' interest was take; n the preliminary games, and on th n'holo the form displayed after th' vintor interval was very good. After loon tea was provided f>y the ladies.' Practice games only were played a ;ho Wellington courts. The first tour lament of the season is to be com nenced at 10 o'clock this morning md the entries promise some interest ng contests. Practice games were played at mosl >f the other courts.
