Thore is quite a large variety of ate tractions for tho holiday-maker to choose from to-day. At Day's Bay tho Labour Day demonstration is to take plncft, and steamers will leave tlia Ferry Wharf for there every halfhour.
The Historical Pageant at Newtown Park is to bo continued' ou from 2.30 to -5 p.m. and from 7.30 to 10 p.m. Should tho weather prove unfavourable performances are to take place at tlio Town Hall at 8 p.m. and 8 p.m. 'The second day _of tho Wellington , Racing Club's Spring Meeting is to bo hold at 'frcntham. Trains leave for the course at convenient hours from both Lambton and To Aro stations. Tho Hutt Valley Labour Day Carnival is to be held on tho Pfltond liocreation Ground.
At 10 o'clock this morning tho Mayor {Mr. J. P. Luke) will t-urii tho first, sod of Central Park, off Nairn Street.
At night there is Adeline Geneo and tho Russian, dancers at the Opera House, vaudeville at His Majesty's, pictures _at tho King's Theatre, and tho continuous pieturo shows (day and night).
