Tho Kyarra touched the tug and turned her over. The tug went to the bottom, keel uppermost. Thore wero fire men aboard. A. Roberts (engineer) and G. Birkenhead (fireman), who were in tho encinoroom, wero drowned. Tho othor three, who woro on dcck, wero thrown into the water and-wero rescued.

Renter's 'Agency reports that tho Finnish steamer Vestkusten has been wrecked at .Vasa, on tho west coast of Finland, and that forty persons have been drowned. (Rcc. Ootober 24, 10.80 p.m.) Ono of tho' Vestkusten's crew escaped. The vessel left Vasa on Wednesday. A heavy galo was encountered, and she ran on a. reef and sank in a fow minutes. The crew launched the boat, which foundered, its occupants being drowned. The survivor was ono of a number of flremon who clung to the rigging; tho rest succumbed to exposure.
