PERSONAL NOTES FROM LONDON. London, September 18. The Misses Burton, of Danediu, havo returned to London after spending some weeks in Devonshire. Mrs, Georgo Binney and Miss Bimiey have returned to London from the Continent. Mr. John Roberts, C.M.G.. of Dunedin, was in London last week, and is now on a visit to Scotland Ho sails for New Zealand on October 22. Mr. N. N. Bealey, of Canterbury, has been spending tho summer partly at St. Margaret's, near Dover, and- partly in Scotland. Ho is now in London for a few months. The Rev. IT. F. Tracey, who has for some timo past held the position of Vicar of Dartmouth, 'has resigned in order to go out to Now- Zealand, where ho has many friends and relatives. Since arriving in England in May, Mr. W. G. Evans, of Hawko's Bay. has toured extensively in Scotland and North Wales, and has played in several open tennis tournaments. He and Mr. H. B. Hindlo, of Auckland, are at present in London, and intend visiting Paris this nook. .Mrs. Francis Stevens, of Wellington, and her grandchild, Doris Stevens, who arrived in England in May,_ have been travelling with relatives ill Devon, Cornwall, Warwickshire, and Ireland. Tliev will visit the Continent before returning to Ne.v Zealand at the end of the year. Mr. and Mrs. J. Watson, of Port Chalmers, arrived in England a fortnight ago, after having visited the United States and Canada. They left for a month in Scotland last week, then pay a visit to Paris, and jnm the Orontcs at Toulon in November. Of "The Merry Marauders," by Mr. A. J. Rees, formerly of New Zealand, "The Times" Critic wrote last week:— This is not only entertaining, but original. At any rate, we do not remember meeting before with the record of tho doings of a theatrical touring company in New Zealand recorded by a member of it ill letters to "My Dear Dick."
