The Australian crickcters, with tlie exception, of Arnott and Campbell, who are in England, and Macartney, who returns by the next boat, arrived by the Marama from Vancouver to-day. . Surpriso was expressed by Mayne, the captain, at'tho nature of the messages published recently about tho players. Ho could not understand why tho messages were sent stating that the team was stranded. : Tho success ■of 'tho tour was assured from the outset. At no timo were,, tho players in financial difficulties, and ithe statement that tho hotel proprietors were tired of waiting for money was incorrect. Mr. Mayne preferred not to say anything as to how much each man would net, but he was emphatic in his statement that the tour was a great financial success. From the playing point of view, the tour was also successful, only one game being lost out of 55 played. . The team is in good health.
