ANALYSIS OF MANURES.
• Mr. G. M. Thomson gave notice yesterday to ask tlio Minister of Agriculture whether lie will introduce legislation to amend tho present Salo of Manures Act in the direction of insisting that with every salo of, say, a ton or more of artificial manure, the vendor 1 shall give a certified analysis? By undertaking analyses free during soveral past years, he stated, the Government had' put private analysts out of Inisi!n(S"ss.Ct Now 'tiiat there is no outside person to do this work tho Government . Analyst charges at lease £1 lis. Gd. for every analysis of such a manure as basic slag, and frequently takes a very long time to do tho work. The present Act, Mr. Thomson, added, is an absoluto farce..
