In conversation with a reporter Mr. lievins said tho company wanted all the assistance possible from the settlers in regard to the supply of stock. Tho works woiilcl bo,of immense benefit to the district. One of tho Shaw-Savill boats would arrive every four or six weeks. He expected to bo killing 500 head of •cattlo a day. If sufficient stock .was not available in the district cattlo would be bought elsewhere and shipped to tho works for killing.
