ißy Telegraph—Pmbs AEeodatlcm.) Wanganul, October 20. The Baptist. Conference resumod its sittings on _ Monday morning at tun o'clock. The Ministerial settlement scherao was tho main subject for discussion. The reports of the Churches and tho auxiliaries for and against tho scheme were submitted as far as re* ported. After considerable discussion it was resolved to set lip a special committee to consider suggested amendments and to report to a later .session. The scuretajy submitted the special report of the Finance Committee, which recommended thai the Sunday Schools and women's organisations of the Churches be requested to devote a portion of their fun-Is to home missions. Tho report was adopted. It was resolved that the sincerest sympathy of the confcrence ho tendered to the sorrowing and bereaved families in the South Wales mining catastrophe. The motion was cabled. Mr. C. C. Garlick presented tho report of the Itomucra Children's Home. Forty destitute orphan children wero in residence. As the old building had become impracticable, a new site of 73 acres had been purchased at Manurqwa and presonted to tho denomination. A tender for a now building was about to bo let at a cost of £7375. Towards this £6504 had been contributed. Tho report of the Manse Fund Committoo and of the registrar and recorder wero received and adopted. It was agreed on the motion of Mr. Driver that tlirco delegates bo appointed to confer with a similar delegation from the Church of Christ to consider the possibility of the union of the two bodies and tho prevention in tho meantime of overlapping.
