ANDERSON PARK.
6 OASIS IN THORNDON DISTRICT. Anderson Park is looking splendid this season, and visually, at all events, amply 'repays the cost of the great work which has given- Wellington North' a suitablo playground. During the past year tho turf has done splendidly, and tliero is now a fine sod, which snould stand well during the cricket season if it is not. given too much work, for it is still a young ground. Marked improvements have been made during tho spring. On two sides of tho Park— Glenbervie Road and Tinakori Road— there are banks, varying i; . height, along the top of which run the footpaths surrounding tho playing areas. As there was a considerable risk of children falling over these banks they have now been protected with a stout jarrah post ana rail fence, and etill further protection is to bo provided in the most dangerous parts. This railing commences at tho carriage entrance to the Park near the Botanical Garden gates in Tinakori Road, and follows the bank right round to the dressing filled (within a biscuit throw of tho Seddon monument). The approaches to tho park havo also been improved by the erection of two flights of steps—the one leading to tho north-west corner of tho ground from Tinakori Road, and the other from Glenbervie Road, near the dressingBhed. Tho ground lias been scythed, mowed and rolled, and pitches have been pre_£ared for the season's, play.
