MACARTHY TRUST.
BETWEEN £6000 AND £6000 AVAILABLE. As the result of inquiries mado it has been learned that between £5000 and £6000 are available for distribution amongst the charitable and educational institutions which have applied to the Macarthy Trust for a quota of the moneys derived from the portion of the estate of the late Mr. T. Q-. Macarthy, which was. willed in. that direotion. The Advisory Board to the Trustees have held meetings, but so far has not definitely fixed how they shall recommend the allocation of the moneys, but that will be dcoided before the end of the month and, after revision by the Trustees, the monoys will bo disbursed. So far thirty-three institutions from the Wellington , district lmvo applied for consideration under tho terms of the will. These, it is interesting to learn, jlo not include the name of any of tho institutions founded by tho Rev. Mother Mary Joseph Aubert. Under tho will the sum'of £1000 was bequeathed to her and tfill be paid on her return to New Zealand from Europe. Acknowledgment naa been received by the Wellington manager for the Publio Trußteo (Mr. 0. Zachariah) of the £1000 bequest under the late Mr. Macarthy's will for charitable institutions •in Geelong (Victoria). To 1 effect"an equitable distribution of that amount, the Mayor of Geelong (Mr. Andorson) was consult ed, and on his rooommendation £300 was given to tho local Hospital Board, and seven other charitable institutions received tho sum of £100 each.
