He also urged her to take the guilt on her own shoulders, promising or a largo sum of money to go abroad. Sho accompanied Bnishkovskjr to Kharkoff, where Margolin, a barrister, and two other men offered her £4000 to assume guilt in order to secure Beiliss's acquittal. (Reo. October 18, 0.16 a.m.) St. Petersburg, Ootober 17. The trial of Beiless has been marked by frequent conflicts between opposing counsel, reflecting religious or party antagonisms. Interest in tho proceedings has been heightened by the examinations of the Chebryak family, owing to the general belief that Vera Chebryak knows, but conceals, the whole truth relating to the muraer. There is a strong divergence botween the husband's and the wife's testimony.
